I am about to go insane...When I am browsing folders on my hard drive,
I keep getting an application error, explorer then shuts down and
restarts. I am a systems analyst by trade, lots of PC experience...my
PC is very clean, no spyware, no junk (at least on this one!) This PC
is basically used as a little server and media is streamed to it to my
2 XBOXs.

Has anyone experienced this error where the faulting module has been
unknown? I haven't changed anything recently that should have caused
this

Thanks in advance

Here is my PC and everything I have hooked up to it:

Socket 939 AMD Sempron 3400+
ATI Radeon X300
1GB DDR 400 RAM
100 GB SATA drive (primary)
250 GB IDE drive
80 GB USB drive
LiteOn CD Burner
Pioneer DVR-106D USB2.0 DVD burner
USB keyboard and mouse
Logitech pro5000 USB2.0 Webcam
Canon IP5000 printer

I would look to a running program interacting with explorer and causing the
problem. Might be a shell ext or context handler or something. What Windows
updates were recently installed? Could one of them be responsible? Clean
boot and see if you can reproduce the error.

Nirsoft has some free tools to help track down problems like this.

That is as long as you are sure it is clean of malware.
