Hi all,
I have 2 Windows 2003 servers (both DC's) running my AD infrastructure. One
of them is also the file and print server and serves up the profiles and
printers among other things. My question is this:

1) In the event of a disaster with that server can I use my other DC to
quickly replace the other DC/file/print server and how???

Thanks for any and all help.

Sabir.

Thanks Jimmy,
But I was wondering if I could do this within a Microsoft based solution
(meaning free).:-)
Any KB articles??

Sabir.

Hmm... Let's see if I understand you correctly. You have two DCs, if one
fails (the one that have the data) you want to do a system repair to the
other one? Sounds a bit troublesome, remember that you have a lot of
cleaning up to do before you get it to work correctly.... Why not only
restore the data files to the other DC instead of replacing it....?

Regards,
/Jimmy

Jimmy,
Yeah that was my plan. But I also have printers on the other DC and have
scripts that reference the main DC through its UNC name. ANy suggestions
for that.

Is there any way to back up printers on one machine and back them upto a
different machine??

Thanks,
Sabir.
