Fault at Start UP

At startup a message appears "HOLE has encountered a
problem and needs to close". What is this and how do I
stop it.

Windows has recorded a fault code. Fault in iedll.exe
version 1.0.0.8. Fault address 0x00003242.

Any help is appreciated.

On start-up,enter the BIOS,exit page,select,load set-up
defaults,then save changes and exit BIOS.
You could/can enter recovery,(boot to xp cd)in recovery
type:CHKDSK C: /R
When its thru type:EXIT
Then remove xp cd,let xp boot-up

that tries to write to the registry
