fat32 to ntfs

i have 2 hard drives one with an OS on and one with my data (already backed
up on cdrw). Both are FAT32, is it safe to convert them both to ntfs? what
tool should i use? windows or partition magic 8? what are the advantages of
converting or should i just wait till the next reformat and do it as clean?

Use PM8, you will get the optimum cluster size by using PM to convert to
NTFS.

Pretty safe, but when you make any file system changes, you MUST have a
complete backup to fall back on if it goes wrong. Even if the procedure is
going as planned, a power interruption will cause a complete data loss.
