Win xp pro doesn't recognize my harddrives as fat32 and
assigned new drive letters as well. did a checkdisk and
recovered frag files 000.chk that are pieces of my mp3's,
now how seeing that tthe drive is still so full do i
recover the rest of the pieces so to speak.?
i ran scandisk and checkdisk undlete you name it.
afraid to try deffrag?
will it lose all the info all together or put the
fragments back togther?
i have a partitioned drive and right clicking on
properties shows it is full like it was but as fat instead
of fat 32, ran all the fix it kind of programs like even
volume checking still no luck retrieving the files hiddden
and cannot change attributes even can see them through my
other pc .
no luck though
anything that can help

Why use an outdated file system such as FAT32 in XP,ntfs is preffered,
you should convert FAT32 to ntfs,go to run, type:cmd
In cmd type:CONVERT C: /FS:ntfs A restart will be required,youre system
will be 2X more efficient.

wooo okay hold on let me get this right, sounds too good
to be trrue, i would have to hug and kiss you if that is
the case.
i have one h/d that is partioned using c/d fat32 when i
installed win 95 or 98 back then and another harddrive
which was e and cd rom being f
now c is c fat / d is cd rom / e is what should have been
d and is only fat/ and now f is e and fat32 ?
i am puzzled when i insttalled winxppro why did it not do
that to begin with?
i am sure i chose that option.
i read logs and all kinds of files that i had saved
through norton, yeah i know don't say,
but please can you explain a little more xdetail how to go
about this without losing any data?

in short will that work for all my drives?
and how do i do that then? through dos F8 and go into each
drive sep?
i have 3 drives
