Can I slave a HD with WIN98SE OS to a system
using a HD with XP? Any problem with file structures?

TIA Mike

Yes and No.

XP can use it just fine. Depending on the system, you either jumper it Slave
or Cable Select. On many systems (Dell, HP, Compaq, etc.), it is Cable
Select.

The potential gotcha is the possibility that the Win98SE drive was formatted
using an overlay. If that's the case then trying to access the drive from
XP will be problematical as XP doesn't have the overlay loaded.

While some overlay programs may use a different partition layout, that doesn't
mean they all do.
