FastStone Image Viewer - lost XP Taskbar

As per recent thread, my first impressions of FS Image Viewer are very
positive.

When I first ran it two days ago, I was pleased to see that I could
use the very handy feature of popping up menus at the various screen
edges *without* losing my permanently displayed WinXP Taskbar. But
since last night that has vanished! I've no idea what triggered that
unfortunate change.

Any thoughts please? Anyone else have similar behaviour?

The Case of the Missing Taskbar
The taskbar is at the heart of the Windows XP interface, but sometimes
it turns up missing. This usually indicates that the settings for your
user account are corrupted. But what do you do to get it back? Check
out KB article 318027 to solve this one, here:

Here is another way.

XP Taskbar. Can't move back to bottom position.
Right click on an empty part, on the drop down menu > Toolbars, click
on Quick Launch to untick. This may relocate the bar.
Retick Quick Launch.

XP Taskbar. Hide inactive icons.
Right click on an empty part of the bar > Properties, tick > Hide
inactive icons.

Thanks, but I haven't lost my taskbar, except full screen in FS
Viewer. This is purely an FS issue, not an XP one.

Obviously, I don't have 'Autohide' enabled in the WinXP settings, and
I do have enabled: 'Always show Windows taskbar in Full Screen'.

An associated issue was also raised by Roger Johansson in the thread
Subject: Re: FastStone Image Viewer 2.26 Beta (3 Oct 2005)
Date: 4 Oct 2005

But I'm pretty sure I was getting *both* bottom taskbars displayed.
Now I'm getting just the FS one. Maybe the author has changed
something - in my case a retrograde step!

I emailed him too. If I get a reply I'll report back.

Meanwhile, would appreciate if other FS users could check this
behaviour please.

In settings under the viewer tab
there is a setting called "Always show windows taskbar in full screen"

check if you have this checked in

I'm using Win2k and don't get the Windows taskbar displayed when I
display an image full-screen with 'Always show Windows taskbar in Full
Screen' checked. Didn't do a reboot but did do a restart of FS. I
don't get the other problem you mention, i.e. lose the Windows taskbar
when FS is open.

Thanks, Larry. So it's not just me.

BYW, I don't '...lose the Windows taskbar when FS is open,' only when
I'm viewing or slide-showing full screen. Which sounds same as
behaviour you get.

This is 2.26 Beta 1003. Same as yours?
