FAST USER SWITCHING NOT LONGER WORKS LIKE BEFORE? ANYBODY CAN HELP ME? ?
THANKS

Like the title says i had been using FSU on this particular computer for
some time thern after about a few months i noticed that FSU no longer
worked, what i mean is that if someone is already logged on and i goto the
switch user, it goes to the welcome screen like normal but when i click on
any other user it throws me right back to the welcome screen and i can't log
in and the the originaly person logged in is the only one that can log back
in ? If i log off completely then i can log in as another user? WHAT
CHANGED???

I have the most update windows xp and patches etc.

I have run registry scans and virus scans = all ok.

I have unselected FSU in users account - rebooted - then reset FSU -
rebooted again = still same problem.

I have tried Kelly's FSU registry tweak - Still same
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

checked services, FSU / terminal / remote etc all set to automatic and
running

no error messages

AnyBody know what's going on, is something bad in registry? Is msginadll
bad??????? i don;t know

Thanks in advance XP Guru's !!!

sorry if this is cross-posted to a few threads,.

Hi Henry,

can you create another account under Control Panel, and perform fast
user switching to the new account?

If you can FUS into the new account you created, the account that had
problem going in is probably having problems with its profile. Here's what
you can do, try to perform a system restore to just a day before when the
problem started.

Alternatively, you could go to C:\Documents And Settings\, identify the
user's profile folder and move it away from that directory. In this case,
when the affected user trys to login, he will make a copy of the Default
profile and use it to create a new profile. This time, try fast user
switching into this account. If this time you can, its pretty obvious that
the preious profile had a problem logging in.

Have fun...
