Joergen,

Make sure that Welcome Screen [and Fast User Switching] needs to be enabled. And if your system is connected to a Domain, Fast User Switching will not be available.

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts.
Click Change the way users log on or off.
If it is not already selected, click to select the Use the Welcome screen check box.
NOTE: The Use Fast User Switching check box is unavailable until you click to select the Use the Welcome screen check box.
Click to select the Use Fast User Switching check box, and then click Apply Options. Quit the User Accounts tool.

Both my Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching is
enabled. I do not have any lan. If I try to switch user
the screen just jumps back to the logon screen, and you
have to go back to the previous user again and logoff.
then you can log on as another user. Do i have to
reinstall the system?
Thanks for a quick answer!

Are you seeing the Classic Logon screen? Follow these checklists to enable Welcome Screen and FUS:

* Enable Terminal Service / Fast User Switching Services
* Use default GINA
* Configure your computer to work in a Workgroup and not in a Domain.
* Check for any Policies which are forcing Classic Logon
