Any Radeon 9800 (pro) suggestions?
Any FX5900 (ultra) suggestions?

Also, no water-cooled - they are too expensive ... :)

Any suggestions are greatly apreciated...!

Thanx alot in advance

Any Sapphire model with "Ultimate" in the name--they are all fanless.

Sapphire even makes a fanless model, no-noise is better than low-noise,
right?

Yea, and you can mod either card with a Zalman heatpipe for the same
effect.

Found a price - not cheap, but could be worse

Did not know fanless 9800 did exist - thanx alot for info :)

I'd get the Zalman (OP-1?) fan that bolts right on - it's made to be
very quiet, just blowing a soft breeze accross the heatsinks.

It is a misconception that all the FX models are noisy. The first 5800
Ultra model with the OTES cooler had a slightly higher than ambient dB
level (above 42db) so that it was audible in a quiet case. However,
much hoopla was made about that and the idea that somehow FX's are
leafblowers came about.

This is not the case with any of the current 5200/5600/5900 cards. Even
the 5900U with a large cooling unit is still very quiet. Both the
R9800's and FX5900's make roughly the same amount of noise now and are
both almost unnoticeable.

Unless you have an ultra quiet case and are aiming for a silent PC. In
that instance I would recommend either a 5600 with the slim fan unit or
a 9600. Both produce levels below ambient case noise.
