We Live For The One We Die For The One

More people online would be good so why bother with a CD key ?

They already loose their money when they dont buy the game, perverse
punishment ?

I take it they have a certain ammount of keys and if they dont match
any keys they have then your screwed, works as logn as noone steals
keys and or guesses them with key gens, if they do that your screwed
HAVE NO chance of getting a new key.

Online play is ok i guess just got to get the hang of it, iam playing
hte single player mission on the hardest level HA HA, getting
slaugtered but trying where do i have to get to to get the next save
point iam at the beginning at the huts :)

Your thoughts.

If you purchased the game, you have the key. If not, you're out of luck.
If someone stole your key, contact the company with your proof of purchase
for a replacement.

So people who actually pay for it get something extra

As above. more of an incentive to buy the game?

Even if someone gets your key you just send proof of purchase and you get a
new one (happened to me with UT2004 It was stolen from the box)

Better to buy and get the whole experience. When games like Matrix online
are released you might not have any choice but to buy, and as more and more
are getting geared toward online play as the main feature the cd key thing
will be a real bitch to pirates.

Why? Well the CD-key is only needed to REGISTER an account to play
online. Yup, only for the account! This to ensure only those that
payed for the game actually will play online. Also that if cheaters
are doing their tricks..it only takes "cancelling" their account to
remove them!

right, that doesn't work, I purchased a DVD copy, the manual was blank where
the key was meant to be printed. I contacted UBISOFT and they said they have
no spare keys to give me.

HMMM pirates will find a way, takes about 10 days tops to beat any new
copy protection.

Online play might be a prob but doable :)

Its because of people like you... trying to cheat the developers out
of their hard earned money,,,,yeah... I know you bought this copy.....

The key should be in the BOX not in the manual.....

Or do you always throw boxes away of games you guy!

If it's worth playing, it's worth paying.

No the key is printed on the back of the manual on the UK
release, and there's already been a long thread about the
fact that in Aus they supply stickers to the games shops who
then stick them on the manual at time of sale, over in the
action newsgroup.
