I have a Radeon 9700Pro but all I get when I run this demo is a grey screen.
I downloaded it from three different sources and used three different
drivers but still had no luck. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Works great for my on a 9700 Pro and 4.2 drivers. The Far Cry forum posters
say the version 3.7 drivers are better and you need an insane amount of RAM
to have demo run OK.

Got the same card with 3.8 driver. Runs fine.

Martin.

Someone explain to me how just posting, "runs fine for me" helps the OP with
the problem. Not picking on you MKH1, there are 10 people that have posted
the same in this thread. It could be a thousand things causing the problem.
I have had instability with my system since upgrading from a GF4 to a Radeon
9800 Pro. The Far Cry demo was especially bad. It would lock up about 10
seconds in. Changing drivers didn't have an effect. Turns out that I have to
currently disable Hyperthreading for my system to be stable. My motherboard,
ram, and the video card are not playing well together. With this disabled
the Far Cry demo runs great for me.

My system specs:

P4 2.8c
MSI 865PE Neo2-FIS2R 1.7 bios (2.0 has video initialization issues for
myself and several others)
1GB Corsair Twinx XMS3200-LL ram (4x256)
Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB (Cat 4.2)
Maxtor 80GB HDD
Audigy

How do you get out of the boat?

Hyperthreading doesn't helps much anyway.... about 20% in
photoshop..and other 2d/3d/image editing programs. For games it
doesn't matters anyway!
