Is any one else having the problem that shadow on objects (Palmtree shadow
on the huts) are blue bright blue? The demo ran with no problems, and I
already got the patch.

I have all the lates drivers for my system:
P4 2.8 HT
1 GB Ram
Nvidia 5950
Sound Blaster 2zs

Thanks

I've seen the same problem, not sure if changing drivers would help (I was
using 5950 as well), It went away when I turned something from "Very High"
to "High", one of the advanced display settings, shadows or something, can't
remember off the top of my head. I would suggest doing that until their is a
new nvidia driver or game patch that comes out.

Cool,
I played around with the setting some more last night and noticed the same
thing. Changed to Very High instead of Auto Detect and all shadow were
fine, then tried the High settings and again it was okay. Weird.
This game runs great, but Halo runs abit sluggish even with the new drivers
(not unplayable though).

Thanks!

I can't get the game to run at any accptable speeds.. even on
low/800x600 its clunky.

AMD Barton 2500+
1gig PC2700 OCZ(2x512)
Installed to 2x33.6 SATA WD Rapter 10k drives in RAID-0
LeadTec GeForce FX 5600 128mb 8x w/ Sideband enabled

patched to the latest patch

Ok just got done play FarCry on a GFX5600 128MB RAM

I had great frame rates.. Here is what i did.

Installed game
Installed patch (1.1)
Used default settings (1024x768, everything medium, no AA)
Ran around on first level, ran pretty good

My system isn't exact, I do have 512MB RAM, and 2GHZ proc. Might want to
look at some FarCry message boards.

People 1 Gig make Farcry run good ? :)

You got an Xp2400 ?

Odd, When I first start out in the room w/ the big pipe you walk
through, frame rates are terrible in that room, up until you get to
where you pick up a gun and some armor, from there they are "ok" frame
rates (wouldn't call them great) until you get in side the helicopter
refueling area. from there, they take a drastic decline, it gets so
bad in fact that it takes 2 secounds from when i move my mouse, for
the game to show it on screen.

I'll check out some in a few min.

one would think that 512mb more ram would be enough to off set 200mhz
difference in CPU.. are you running an intel chip or a AMD one like
me? (Barton 2500+ ~1.8GHz)

I'm not sure what to try. How about uninstalling your nvidia drivers, then
going to www.nvidia.com and try some different drivers, 56.64.

I know what problem you are talking about, where you are underground and its
just crawling, I think I was using a pretty old video card though. The
machine I tried on is actually a 64bit 1.6GHZ AMD, but its running 32bit
WindowsXP so it should be the same.

I don't think the proc is the problem, should run great on your system. I'll
try another one of my systems.

I've got 2 sets of drivers i'm going to try when i get home tonight.
(61.11's(beta) and the 53.xx's) as i tried the game on the driver set
before 56.72 and upgraded to the 56.72's to see if the preformance
went up.

I also found a website that lists a lot of tweaks for Far Cry,
(http://www.tweakguides.com/Farcry_1.html) and some windows ones as
well that i will try tonight

System Recap
A-Bit MAX2
LeadTek GeForce FX5600 128m 8x w/ sideband enabled (64mb Apture size)
Via 4n1 1.47
AMD Barton 2500+ (1.8GHz 333FSB)
2x512 OCZ DDR333
2x33.6 WD Rapter SATA drives in RAID-0

Iam just running a Normal Xp 2400, 2000 mhz, 266fsb.

Ive got a Radeon 9600 Pro, i play with the Setting son medium in the
game and my system is NOT overclocked.

But i may up the FSB and Vidcard settings to get me some extra speed
so i may be able to run on high settings :)

I will see.
