Hi.

Does it go into sleep mode as soon as it gets into the gameplay?

If so it could be trying to use an unsupported "refresh rate", I don't have
Far Cry so I've no idea if it's got an option for it in the settings or not
have a look. 60Hz would be the safest option to try it in. Failing that
try it in a lower resolution too.

yeah it set at 60 hz on my card and even on 800= 600 it
still does this

Is the computer still running (does numlock and the other lights work on
your keyboard, do you get HDD activity when you enter CTRL+ALT+DEL for
example?) and the just monitor going to sleep mode?

Do you have any other really heavy graphics apps like Far Cry? Halo for
example?

Have you overclocked your card?

I think I'm leaning over to hardware/cooling/power problem at the moment.
Try cooling your case down a bit (take the side off) and playing, relaxing
memory timings on the card and motherboard.

How many watts is your PSU? Does your monitor go straight into the mains or
via the PSU?

Try reducing the level of detail to the lowest it will go and take the side
of your case off, if you've got any temperature monitoring software put it
on and watch your temps.

Also in the AGP drivers lower the AGP speed and turn Fast Write off (under
the SMARTGART tab). If there's an option to disable sound try that as well
(check in the readme file sometimes there's a command to start the program
with to disable it).
