Well as it seems I have been given a very very nice oppurtunity.

I have been challanged to build the ultimate pc... Basically the ultimate gamer/office jockey machine.
My relative has decided that they want to make a large invetment in a pc system... he wants to game but also be lightning fast in all aspects of its use. And get this, MONEY IS NO OBJECT...

If the proposed build is accepted, My relative will purchase the parts for 2 PC's .... Yes I said it TWO of them. I am actually going to build my dream computer.

Needless to say I want everyones advice, I've been MIA for the last couple of months, but I have an idea of what I want although no particular parts. I went on a hunt but having all the funds I need makes it hard to choose... The more expensive part isn't always better.

But basically I'm looking for the Fastest AMD card for gamining and general pc tasks (opeining word pad documents and things like that.) I get confused when I see Athalon FX and opteron. I was just thinking of getting the largest Athon ####+ I could find to start off with.

I happen to like nVidia and would want to go with 2 cards in SLI and assuming I would go with 7800's

I was thinking of going with a LanParty board... But I got stuck between 3 models... I wish I could list the parts I saw but my internet is terribly slow ... it took 10 min to get this page open.

So to recap... AMD proccessor, nVidia video card*(must have to ports... and possibly be HD), DFI board(SLI PCI-e 16x compatabile, 4GB ram/+) ... Oh man a case... nothing to glitzy though(no need for lots of neon lights or whatever, just sleek, sexy and keeps the system cool.) I even saw the cases with AC and I have no idea if it works better than a really well implemented water system. Again money is no object so don't worry about that.
Surround sound is a must, I can handle Optical drives, but how about hardrives, should I go with 2 rapters in rad 0 or 4 in 0/1 SATA I or SATA II... is there III yet.
Case also has to be quiet but will sacriafice for efficiancy.
Users will be my self and an average pc user. Make no mistake the guy is intelligent but I could drown him in useless pc component babble.
4gb of ram and yes I do plan on OCing the whole rigg... for for just bragging rights.
Also if a monitor could be recomended... id say realistically no bigger than a 19" sadly space is an object.
Please guys any recomendations would be appreciated....

Also feel free to go outside of what I listed... as I said I've been out of the loop for a few months So i know there is a ton of new stuff out there that I have missed out on.

Thank you---RAJE

You have been MIA for a few months? Was that in country??

As for the ultimate PC i'm not a gamer, but i'm sure others will come up with the right sort of rig for you.

The fastest AMD CPU will be the FX-62 AM2 when it retails shortly - but by all accounts it is beaten in nearly all areas by the Intel's new Conroe chip - have a read of the AMD v Intel thread.

These machines are going to be awesome - any chance you could get them crunching for the PCReview Crew :D

i havent kept up with the new tech coming out as i havent had much time so im gonna stick to what i know :)

Asus A8N32-SLI
AMD FX-60
4GB of OCZ, Patriot, Mushkin etc RAM
couple of 150GB raptors in RAID 0 and a couple of 200GB slaves
Quad core graphics setup
plextor DVD-ROM and SATA DVD-RW
I-RAM2 when they come out just for the OS

plus all the other stuff you need

if you really want to go all out then get a Tyan K8WE paired with a couple of Dual core opterons as much RAM as it will take (i think its something like 16GB  ) and 2 7900 GTX's in SLI with all the other stuff mentioned should be pretty damn quick

Thanbks guys... I'll take it from here... didn't even know they came out with an nvidia 7900
