I had a Gigabyte board that would shut the fans off
when you pressed the "Sleep" button.
Is there any way to set up the A7N8X I just bought
the same way. Right now all the fans keep running
when you click the "Standby" button.

TIA,
Tom

Your are probably going into S1. Suspend S1 usually don't shut off the HDDs
and fans. Suspend S3 does shut down the HDDs and fans.

I think you are correct, but where do you change
it to S3?
I can't find the setting in this new
Phoenix/Award bios.
There must be a way to get into the advanced
part of it, but I haven't found it yet.
Thanks for your help,
Tom

Go into the BIOS and set "ACPI Suspend To RAM" [Enabled]
(Somewhere in Advanced:Power Management Setup)

Then, get a copy of "dumppo.exe" from here:
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Products/Oemtest/v1.1/WOSTest/Tools/Acpi/dumppo.exe

If Windows was installed with the machine not set up properly for
ACPI, then "dumppo" can fix things up. Consult Google for the
various command line switches to the program.

HTH,
Paul
