Motherboards are made in China. Need I say more?

Some fans draw too much current to be used on the 3 pin fan header. If this
is so you can burn out the traces that supply the fan terminals.

I have some fans that draw way too much current but were supplied with the 3
pin connector anyway. If I used it I would be asking for trouble, as the
designed current draw of the fan is well over three times the spec that the
M/B manufacturer gives as "allowed maximum current" of connected fans.

But you can buy a wiring harness adaptor that lets the fan run off a Molex
connector from your PSU and still attach a lead to the fan header so that it
can read the fan speed.

Obviously! But the O/P is asking about the M/B connectors - not molex
connectors. I explained WHY the M/B connectors may not be working.
