fan thing

im not very familiar with my laptop but comparing to my friends' heats up quite easily. after an hour it gets very hot. the fan that is found underneath, i dont know what's it called, doesnt seem to work. i never saw it spinning since i got the laptop. others say it starts running when the laptop gets warm but it never did. is it broken? what should i do?

Contact the manufacturer of the motherboard because this could be a failure
of the hardware.
 
If the fan is not working, it needs to be replaced, either by you if you are capable, the manufacturer, if i
is under warranty, or a shop that deals with laptops. Do this right away, as excessive heat can ruin you

your motherboard is shot,it's not powering the fan,trash

little harsh I would say, toss because of a fan failure?
