I just built a 64bit system with an A8V Deluxe motherboard ( I didn't need
SLI-I'm not a gamer)

Anyhow I installed an AMD Athlon 3500+ with its OEM fan.

Every time I re-boot it stops with the message "CPU fan error Press F1 to
proceed". The fan is installed and working fine

I've been all over the motherboard and the BIOS to either fix this warning
or disable it. I thought I had it when I disabled "fan warning' in the
BIOS -wrong!

What can I do to allow this machine to do an unattended boot?

Thanks

Are you sure that you connected the fan to the correct fan header on the
motherboard? Make sure it is connected to the one for the CPU. The other fan
headers will obviously work, but the bios is looking for a RPM signal from a
fan hooked to a specific fan header.

Thanks, Mark!

I had, indeed, plugged it into the wrong fan header

I'll go away now

Not connecting a fan correctly hardly qualifies as an idiot, ok so maybe
you're a bit of a newbie, we've all been there. One reason to hang out
here is to learn from each other. ;p
