more people would know him if you called him Jamie instead of James

I know about Andrew Flintoff, Rio Ferdinand or Andrew Murray...

I might recognise the bloke you mentioned but darts isn't that much of a big sport in England is it now?

From Wiki:

Sport plays a prominent role in English life. Cricket is an unofficial national sport, along with association football. The most popular team sport is definitely association football (commonly known as football). Then comes cricket, rugby union and rugby league. Major individual sports include athletics, tennis, golf, motorsport, and horseracing.

even good old horse racing and motor sport is more popular.

Ive worked in the club and promotions business on and off for nearly 20years

So loads Latest to date for Alfonso Rebiero (Carlton banks) but that was ages ago now really.

Feel out with someone so packed it all in

He used to live in the flat opposite me until a few years ago (his Manchester play-pad I presume!), there's even post waiting for him on the letterbox every so often.

Don't know anyone famous though!

I don't, not at all.

I don't know any current sports names except maybe David Beckham, or has he retired?

Don't know any TV soap celebrities, newsreaders, X Factor peeps or Big Brother folk either.

Ignorance is truly bliss.

The acceptance of darts as a sport, knowing it's televised and the fact we make celebrities from lager swilling smoking fat bellied idiots who sling miniature spears at a round target for 'sport' does actually make me a little ashamed to be British, lol

As for famous people, I've met quite a few in me time but the only one I know personally who may be known to anybody is Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze, the band.
