False search in My Documents

I believe that Exployer 6.0 is used in the My Documents search function.
My search criteria are:

All or part of the file name: *.sav
A word or phrase in the file: logdate
Look in: Acct (this is a folder that contains files like *.sav)

There are files here that it should find but it does not.
What is going wrong?
Thanks

Thanks for the information. This is quite complex issue as I found out by
following your link back to --
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q309173
I think I will try Method 2, but I will not try to change the Registry as MS
warns that this may produce fatal consequences.
Another solution I have is to copy/concatenate all (text) files of type
*.sql into a temp.log file type and then do a search on that; but this is a
pain too.
Thanks again.
