False number of unread messages

For the last week or so my folders list shows one unread message in my Inbox,
but there are none. Anyone know how I can correct this please?

View menu>current view>disable group messages by conversation should reveal
the missing message.

Thanks Steve, but have disabled "group messages........." and nothing has
changed. I'm using Vista.

Sorry should have mentioned, you do that while viewing the affected folder,
in your case, the Inbox.

Other than that setting, I know of no other reason for what you are seeing.

Finally cured it by going to "view", "next", and selecting "next unread
message"
It was a junk email which seems to have got into the wrong folder.
Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
