Someone is interfering with the proper running of these newsgroups. They are
coming on in various guises. So far all the ones I have seen have been
Hotmail accounts They all have similar message headers. I do not think that
blocking the email address will work because they hop from identity to
identity.

I use my real name. I started to use some of these newsgroups recenty to
refresh my Access skills, and hopefully help people whilst doing it. It has
been a good way of keeping my mind off things following my sons death. (I
was not making that up).

It is just possible that this person is cyber-stalking me, hopefully
mistaking me for someone else. I do not believe that this is the case, but
it is possible. If so I apologise. All I can do is unsubscribe from these
newsgroups just in case

I will not see any replies to these newsgroups.

I hope for the rest of you that this matter is resolved quickly.

Thanks to all of the contributors, and question askers, that have greatly
increased my store of knowledge.

To David:

I hope I am not just talking to the aether here, and I am sure I am not
alone when I say that your presence will be missed.

I do not understand the threat you perceive, but I completely respect
your desire to back away if you feel the need to do so.

Yet, I am saddened that seemingly one individual is able to disrupt what
is otherwise a very productive collection of groups, and influence the
membership to leave. In my albeit minuscule opinion you have been a
great contributor. No one can take that away from you.

Usenet has its share of miscreants and always will. Such is the nature
of free speech. The same is true in real life... isn't it ironic how
similar these domains are...

My name here is obviously not real, but the email is. I do not check it
often, but I do check it. Feel free to drop a missive.

To the outliers: Negativity breeds the same. If it is chaos and
disruption you seek, try fractals, or alt.alt.alt, or number theory. If
you need help, please seek it in the appropriate context.

The first trolls I was ever aware of were on CB radio when it got big back in
the '70s. That's the first anonymous medium I was exposed to. Anyway, grow
a thick skin and stick around, honestly, 'cause mean people aint going away.

David,

"Non illigitum carborundum". <==== You can say that in polite
company as opposed to: "Don't let the bastards grind you down". :-)

I don't know the issues and it's not my business to know but I hope
you find a solution that allows you to continue to contribute here in
the newsgroups. If the cyberstalking is via email then
http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm will help you localize the
sender's IP. The FBI is always eager to lend a hand when it comes to
felonious behavior that is carried on across state lines and anything
on the internet crosses state lines. So if any part of the stalking
is in the US the FBI might be interested.

Good luck whatever you do.

Regards,

In the earlier post I forgot to mention that you should encode your
address a little bit. It usually doesn't take much. A few years back
the SWEN virus worked on the unencoded email addresses it found in the
newsgroups. Those of us who were bold/foolish enough to have
unencoded addresses got bombarded with huge amounts of email. The
only solution was to abandon that email address and get another. To
test those waters I suggest that you get your own hotmail account for
use in the newsgroups - encode it a tad please. If your new account
doesn't draw any flies you may be the target of a hack that generates
traffic to every email it detects that is well formed and validated by
testing.

I suggest you use an alias as I do. I get tons of spam and from time to time
I see posting in the newgroups that have nothing to do with the topic set.
There is very little that can effectively be done about the abuses without
exorbitant costs to be borne by somebody.

I hope this helps.

Eagle.

I suggest you lose the training wheels and you learn how to use Access
Data Projects.

there wouldn't be a troll problem if you dorks wouldn't continue
spreading misinformation about ADP.

Access has a bright future.

But the level of commitment-- where Microsoft puts out buggy ass
software and refuses to fix bugs?

That HAS to change.
