Like many of you, I'm getting a lot of Spam masquerading as MS security
patches or bounced email I never sent. Of course I don't open these.
I've read dozens of messsage here about it, but still have questions.
Probably because I'm getting these on Hotmail via Outllook Express, I can't
apply either of the recommended defenses.
That is,
1) I have up-to-the-minute Norton Av running but it only checks my 'real
email' which by the way runs on Outlook (not OE).
So one issue is that Norton doesn't check Hotmail.
2) I tried to create and apply relevant message rules in OE but they don't
appear to work when one is talking about Hotmail.
Someome please tell me if this is not so. I'm pretty sure about it.
So, unless either #1 or #2 is false someone in my situation I must deal
with the viirus attack manually. Thanks for any corrections.
P.S. Isn't it strange that MS doesn't block these [on Hotmail]? At least the
ones that claim to be from MS??
