Faint prints HP2550L?

I've a HP 2550L that I've just got hold of.

It powers up and prints ok but the prints are faint, worse on the left
side than the right.

Would it be the drum or toner or both?

If you print the internal test page from the buttons, is it faint with all four
colours or only one?
If it is all four then the drum is most likely, if only one then that toner
cartridge is most likely.
If it is all four there are other possibilities but the drum is the first thing
to replace (at a cost!!!).
