Failure to recognize printer

I have an HP6110 Officejet attached to my XP Home desktop. I previously had no problem with it (set up and functioning worked fine), but recently I've had some hard drive problems, specifically "unable to find o/s". I seem to have resolved that thru by booting from my Windows XP CD, but the printer is no longer recognized. The error I get is "RPC server unavailable".

I have uninstalled the printer drivers, rebooted, and tried to reinstall them, but XP refuses to finish the install.

Any ideas?
 
When you uninstalled and reinstalled drivers was the printer diconnected.
reconnecting the printer after installed drivers helps alot!
