failure to print envelopes

I have an "Access 2000 Report" that is designed to be printed on a #10
envelope, but every time I change the page setup to use the #10
envelope it ignores the setting and reverts to letter size. When I
click the print button, the envelope does not advance into the printer
and I get the printer message "out of paper". The application is
written using the facilities of MS Access 2000.

Thanks, Ginger

Access 2000 is now "out of support" but is only a couple of versions back
and the Service Packs are still available. As best I remember, this was a
defect that was corrected in one of the Service Packs... there is an Office
Update link on Windows Update... you may be able to use that if you have a
high-speed connection. It will be excruciatingly slow if you are on dial-up,
so look at http://support.microsoft.com to see how to order CDs (which I
think are still available).

Larry,
I happen to know that system and can vouch for the
level of Office 2000 at SP3. I reviewed the articles
at MS, but didn't find anything relating to problems
with "dropped" printer preferences after setting the
preferences in reports print-preview. I have the same
application on my system and I've not been able to
reproduce what Ginger reports. She has a HP 812,
which is newer than mine, so I'm at a loss for what
the problem might be.

When the report was designed, the page setup was
set to use #10 envelope and the report detail section
size is essentially equal to the dimensions of the #10.

It is often difficult to "pin down" the causes of problems when there's
other software... in this case, the printer driver... involved.

There were, for sure, problems with printer options under Win 98 and maybe
not all wee fixed.
