I have an Intel celeron with windows XP. I just
installed a game but it won't run becaus it says that
there is a runtime error. I don't understand why this
isn't running?

Do you have onboard graphics? Your system may not be supporting the
requirements of the game.

That's the way your computer was probably built. Go into Device Manager and
expand the listing for Display Adapter. If it says something about Intel .
.. . then you've probably got onboard graphics which is sharing a portion of
your RAM (memory) to function. A true graphics card will have a
recognizable name (i.e., Nvidia, Radeon, etc.) listed. If the computer you
purchased was low cost, part of the savings to you was to eliminate the cost
of a PCI or AGP graphics card by the manufacturer.

We need more information to try to help you, first what game is it? Then go
to start, run, type "dxdiag.exe" without the quotes and copy the output in
your answer here so we can check what is installed in your computer...

I am trying to run leisure suit larry...I looked under
dxdiag and it says I have an Intel(r) 82845G graphics
controller, but what I need to get is the direct 3d
acceleration or direct draw and it says that it is n/a.
How do I fix that?

You might need to install video drivers for your motherboard and video
chipset from www.intel.com

Hi,

The system requirement for the latest Leisure Suit Larry are
listed at: www.sierra.com/product.do?gamePlatformId=1834

Windows® 98 SE/Me/2000/XP
Minimum Intel® Pentium® III 800 MHz (with 133 MHz front side bus) or AMD®
AthlonT equivalent * 256 MB RAM *

DirectX® 9.0-compatible 32 MB AGP video card supporting Hardware Transform
and Lighting using NVIDIA® GeForceT, ATI® RadeonT, or more recent chipset *

You would need to have a video card meeting the above requirement
installed in your computer in order to run that game. Time to upgrade. :-)
