i have tried three times to post a question. Each time it has failed to
post, or at least I can't find it. Why is this please?

Happened to me too the other day - problem with webserver I presume. All
posts eventually appeared about 24 hours later!!! For reference I've
resorted to using Windows Mail (Outlook Express replacement) as newsreader
instead and this works perfectly. I still use the website for searching the
forum though as I am not sure how (or if?) you can do this from the mail
newsreader...

It could be that you have offended the computer gods and they are waiting
for you to offer an acceptable sacrifice <GRIN>, but more than likely it is
a software, hardware, or communications glitch -- which may or may not clear
up of its own accord.

Few of us who answer a lot of questions here are frequent users of the
online interface that you used for this post (which did get through, or we
wouldn't know to answer it). I have heard more complaints recently about
missing posts from users of the online interface, but I occasionally post
one using Outlook Express 6 that doesn't show up, too.

I shrug it off, suck it up, and get on with things.

You might try, as hughess7 suggested, using a news reader program and
accessing the newsgroup at the free newsserver news.microsoft.com.
