fAILURE - HP CUE-Scanning Flow Component has encountered a problem (HP7280)

I have a HP7280 AIO printer/scanner. I am running XP SP2.
I continually get this error message when I try to scan:
HP CUE-Scanning Flow Component has encountered a problem and needs to
close
I have read HP's solution to this problem on
http://hpanswers.blogspot.com/ but removing HP CUE via services.msc
never does any good, and uninstalling/re-installing does fix it, but
only for a while, like one day. Then it happens again. And again.
And again. Scanning has become a pain in the A. The printer does
print fine however.
I have chatted with HP's teckies on the problem, and they suggest the
same solutions, which give me the same bad results.
So, I am wondering if anyone out there has dealt with this problem and
solved it? I would be thankful if someone can help me here.
Thanks

Re: Re: fAILURE - HP CUE-Scanning Flow Component has encountered a problem (HP7280)
Sorry to be so long to reply. I wanted to be sure of things,
To answer your question - NO. HP never mentioned that. Made sense to
me, so I removed all twain drivers (and there were some) by searching
in Windows Explorer. I could delete all but a few. I did the delete
by changing file names - for easy recall if necessary.
I did all that four days ago and have faithfully tested a re-installed
HP package every day. Guess what? No problems.
So - I thank you very much for your suggestion. HP should be so
smart.

Re: Re: Re: fAILURE - HP CUE-Scanning Flow Component has encountered a problem (HP7280)
DAMN!
Wouldn't you know? The error is back again. I know if I re-install
the HP 7280 software, I can scan again - but apparently only until it
decides to error off again. Gets tiring after a while. This time the
error was on my XP SP2 machine.
I might try HP chat again - it has been a few weeks. But having been
there before on this, several times, I don't think that will do any
good.
I have to ask. Has anyone solved this problem?
Thanks

HP CUE-Scanning Flow Component problem
Gecko, if you still need a "fix" for this problem, I've found one that seems to work, but it's too long to explain and I don't think I can attach a doc here. So, if interested, email me at (e-mail address removed) and I'll send it to you.

I have encountered this problem with XPsp3, HP Officejet J6480 and done all
the recommended repairs from HP, viz. switching off services, uninstalling (a
lenghty 4 part process) and re-installing. The HP Cue Scanning error would
pop up after a few days. Then I found Steve Jumonville's glorious
contribution at
http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service...47626+1221645542938+28353475&threadId=1213306
- long entry a long way down the page. In essence Steve says that HP
software writes an incorrect entry to the registry and REGISTRY CLEANERS
remove it, thus causing the problem.
When I tried to uninstall HP, I could not remove all of the software and
after reinstalling I got Device I/O and a hpq***08.exe errors. I swore, then
solved the problem by a complete re-format and re-install of everything,
except the registry cleaner. Running with no errors!
I have followed Steve's advice to the letter.
I have followed Steve's advice to the letter.
I did not have a HP Cue error after a C: reformat (see above). I
reinstalled RegCure and ran it to produce the HP Cue error when scanning. I
added the '%APPDATA%\HP\Digital Imaging\Data\Destination' line to the
registry and created three hierarchical folders in C:\Documents and
Settings\{username}\Application Data\HP viz. Digital Imaging, then Data, then
Destination. Ran RegCure. Opened HP for a scan and ... no HP Cue error!
Steve, you have made my day!
FAILURE HP CUE-SCANNING FLOW Component has encountered a problem!
Hi,
I have an HP DESKJET F380 All-in-one printer/scanner/copier.
Running WS Vista Basic.
Every time I try to scan something, I continually get the same message (see above), and need to close.
So I'm bored already.
I'm wandering if anyone out of there has dealt w/ this problem and can help me.
No help from HP. Unsuccessful procedures.
Many thanks for support!.

RE: FAILURE HP CUE-SCANNING FLOW Component has encountered a problem!
As I said above, the answer is at
http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service...47626+1221645542938+28353475&threadId=1213306
I promise you, it will solve the Cue Scanning Flow Component error. Good
luck.

HP Imaging Problem
Did you find a solution.
I have the problem when I run RegCure.
It is suggested HP on install creates an invalid registry entry. A re-install restores whatever this entry is.
The solution would seem to be to eit the registry back to what it was.
I wish I knew.
