I am upgrading from Win 98SE to Win 2000 Pro. I bought a
new hard drive, booted the system using the four disks I
created. It gets through the last disk and is about 60
percent through copying files then says it is unable to
copy file Kernel32.dll. If I skip it it goes a little
further and will not copy file ntdll.dll and finally will
not copy win32K.dll. Next, I get a blue screen telling me
to hit f8 etc etc.. Any suggestions to get these files to
copy during the set up process. I am running a P3. Just
bought a new 20 gig hard drive..

Best Regards,

Whilst installing Windows 2000 on new systems recently, an aggressively
tuned system setup (memory latency) resulted in a number of copying errors.
Their installations were completed successfully when using the manufacturer's
specifications. Does this computer or its setup conform to the manufacturer's
specifications and is it totally compatible for Windows 2000 according to the
hardware compatibility list (HCL)?
