I recently had problems with my network connection on my
Win XP Machine. I removed my Netgear NIC and installed a
LinkSYS NIC which solved my connectivity problems. However
when I try to assign a static IP address to the new NIC it
tells me that the static IP is already in use by "Netgear
FA312 Adapter #2". I read MS's fix for this and gave it a
shot. In the Device Manager there are two Netgear adapters
listed but neither of them will uninstall. The message I
receive says "Failed to uninstall device. The device may
be required to boot the computer." Anybody know a fix for
this? Please send replies to email or email me if you
reply.
