All of a sudden, I started getting this error message on my W2k SP4
server.
Failed to open the Group Policy Object. You may not have appropriate
rights.
Details: The system cannot find the path specified.
This is the only server and it is the domain controller. I have seen
lots of posts on this issue but none seems to help me. I don't often
go into this area so I don't know when the policy started to fail. I
can still get into my AD.
I do have an error on my event view but I am not sure if it is
related.
The Netlogon service could not create server share . The following
error occurred:
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Data:
0000: 7b 00 00 00 {...
Could these be related? Can I simply recreate my sysvol? Are they all
the same? Is there specific security info in the SYSVOL?
I really need to get this issue resolved, but I don't want to do more
damage.
Thank you in advance for your help.
