Okay, so I know about 20,000 other people have already
posted this, but I've gone through EVERY [yes, every] page
on here, and done all the solutions that have been
presented... yeah, they didn't work. I've tried running
the spybot and adaware and debugging, defragging,
uninstalling, reinstalling, restoring, recovering and
deleting again, and whatever else was put in here...

none of that worked...

the second I open IE, it has an error message [failed to
get data for 'ad'], so I exit out of the message, and it
comes up a few more times until IE has one of those 'We've
encountered a problem and need to close. If you were
working on anything, the changes may be lost. We're sorry
for any inconvinence.'

or whatever those say...

and then it closes.

I've sent and NOT sent the reports 50 times

argh! I would take it to the school computer department,
but school's closed for break now, and I'm on my own...

need. suggestions.

btw...

I'm on a Windows XP, Proffesional, I think... I know it's
XP. Just can't remember if it's Proffesional. Pretty sure.

anyway. I could really use some help. thanks!

Mav,
This problem appears to be from the following:
Note: AdRoar adware was bundled with other files you downloaded

Note: shows up in HijackThis as:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E0F0E0E1-5D45-11D4-BC00-2DCC73302D70}
- C:\WINDOWS\system32\cpr.dll

[more info]
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.adroar.html

Go to: http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

With IE closed:

Rescan with HijackThis: Select: the above "02" entry
Remove the above entry by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed
checked'

Since the above was bundled with other possible parasites:
