Failed to get data for 'ac'....

Has anyone found a fix for this error message. I don't
know if it's generated from XP or IE. I upgraded to IE
6sp1 but that didn't help. When I open Control Panel, it
comes up and when I try to open IE, it comes up. I
installed Symantec Virus Protection and did a scan as
well. I tried to restore to an earlier date but that
didn't do any good either...


Anyone?? Help??

A search on google for the error message doesn't bring up any definitive
answers. There does seem to be a frequent mention of Symantec being present
on the systems encountering the problem. Grokster and general malware often
come up in the discussions. A few folks, not all, were successful
eliminating the message using AdAware or Spybot.

Might want to at least try the AdAware or Spybot approach:
Adaware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ and Spybot Search
& Destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org/. That should fix it.
