I have vista home premium a have setup a vpn connection to my work place. The
connection work just fine when it was first setup about two weeks ago. Then
it started timing out with the message “failed to connect to …..â€. I get no
information on what failed. Sometimes after I restart my computer I can get
it to connect. I have turn off the firewall to no avail. Is there a way to
see exactly what is failing?

Thanks for any help.

Do you receive the error code like 800, 721?

I do not receive any error codes, just the "failed to connect to …..†message.
When I use the Diagnose the problem function I get there is no problem.

Do a simple test. Can you telnet port 1723?

My VPN worked 2 weeks ago. Now it refuses to recognize mapped network drives
or see my work network domain.
I can connect to 1 out of 20 servers by mapped drives.
My XP machine right next to me is fine.
I havent installed anything new and we havent changed the VPN at all.
What is up with this thing?
