Failed Installations

I asked a question yesterday about the necessity of Service Pack3. Thanks
for all the info. From the info, I guess I don't really need it. Does
anyone know how to delete it from updates if I don't want it. It also shows
0 downloaded and failed to install.

Now I need to know about other updates the fail to install and show 0
downloaded info. I called Dell and they said I do not need the updates for
my computer and that is why they did not install.
The icon showed up in my in my system tray wanting to install 2 updates. One
was for Update Windows XP (KB952287) and the other was a Security Update
(KB046648). My history shows they have tried to install numerous times and
have failed and also failed when I try to install.

Is it true that if an update does not install, you do not need it for your
system?

Thanks!

No, that is not true.
