Hi there
I've got Office 2003 Pro (US) running, incl. Outlook 2003 (build
11.6359.6360) with Business Contact Manager. When using
officeupdate.microsoft.com, I'm being prompted that I need a critical
update: Business Contact Manager SP1 (KB839881), which I download and start
to install. But the installation halts, and I shut the installation script
down via Task Manager.
Question 1: Have anyone else had this problem? Any help is welcome, please.
No apparent changes have been made to Outlook or BCM, but when trying to
install other updates, like firmware for my DVD drive (PlexTools), updated
drivers for mouse/keyboard (MS Wireless IntelliPoint/Type Explorer 2.0) and
others, an error message tells me that the installation of BCM SP1 was
suspended, and that Windows needs to roll back the changes that BCM SP1
installation has made, before any other installation can complete. But when
trying to roll back these changes, the installation script freezes again,
and I'm stuck.
Question 2: How can I work around this and effectively roll back the changes
that the KB839881 update apparently has made to my system?
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP1 (US).
This is really becomming a hazzle for me, so any help is greatly
appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Flemming
