Hard drive failed on one of the Domain Controllers in our environment, had
to replace the hard drive-

How do I remove the information for this DC on the Active Directory database
before I start rebuilding?

Any suggestions please?

Thanks
Puga.

Use the following article to do a metadata cleanup for the failed box on one
of your other dc's. Be sure that the deletion has replicated to all other
dc's before adding that box back into the domain if you're going to use the
same name.

Also make sure that any fsmo roles that were on the failed DC have been
moved to another dc.
