Hi,

here my problem,

We have a two node cluster with 4 virtual Servers.
2 virtual servers per default on each server.
since some weeks i recocnized that the failback do not appear.
When I switch over in the Clusteradministration the switching work fine.
The failback properties are not changed since creating the virtual servers.
They are set to 1 between 3 so i think the failback should apper in the
night between 1 and 3 o´clock. in the night.
The eventlog brings no messages at this time.
So i do not know how to solve th e problem.

Thanks Axel

Axel,

First, make sure that you have a preferred owner specified for each group
that you want to failback. Next, you should be aware that failback does not
work unless the node somehow stops its cluster service and then restarts its
cluster service. If you failover/move a group, failback will not kick in
unless the service stops and restarts (or reboots) on the preferred owner.

Personnal, I would never use the failback feature of MSCS as I would always
want to investigate why the failover occurred before blindly sending an
application to a potentially unstable server, causing unnecessary downtime
for the application.

Hi

My problem is :
When i reboot for example server1 all resources move to server2.
This behavior is ok but in the night i want that the resources (which have
the prefered server1 ) failback to server1. This do not happen
