Hi all,

here's my problem..

workstation ( winXP SP2, member of domain )
server (win2000 SP3 )

one of my user formated his c:\ by some reason, but we got lucky as we use
server's backup tool to back his data up before..
when we restored his data at server, some of the encrypted files still fail
to read after decrypted...

any idea

Thanks fo help

If you right-click on one of the files that won't read, go to "properties,"
and on the general tab click "Advanced", then click the "Details" button, you
should be able to see what keys are needed to decrypt the file. My experience
with Windows is that sometimes multiple keys are needed to decrypt a file, so
it's possible that even if you have one key, you may need an additional key.

If the files were encrypted on WinXPsp2 and you restored and decrypted them
from backup on Win2000, the problem in reading them may be the difference in
encryption algorithm between the two systems. WinXPsp2 uses AES and Win2000
uses DESX. You might try restoring the files on a system that supports AES.

Thanks.
