Fail to install VS2008 SP1

Hi everybody,

As stated in the subject, I've tried both methods to install
a) download and run VS90sp1-KB945140-CHT.exe directly
b) download the ISO file and run it through virtual CD software

Both are failed and following messages are returned:

The problem seems to related to dd_VC_IA64Runtime, but I have no idea why it
is related to IA64 while my machine is running x64 mode.

I've also tried to find solution from the web, but no single simple way to
slove it. It took me too much time to fight this problem and hope somebody
can give me advice.

I'm using Vista Business 64 bit Traditional Chinese Edition, with Vista SP1,
..NET Framework 3.5 SP1.

I've seen you are a long time busy with this problem.
This is in fact a VB languaguage newsgroup and not a visual studio
newsgroup.

It is definitly a language problem, did you already try one of the chinese
Net newsgroup.

As you have an MSDN subscription than try to connect to a Microsoft
newsgroup using the web interface after that you have loged in to the
subscription.

Don't try this newsgroup, because most questions get a correct answer here
from non MSFT so quick, that they are not able to help anymore.

You can take by instance the AdoNet newsgroup, there are MSFT's very active
and AFAIK those speak perfectly Chinese.

Download and install dotnetfx35 before the install. Reboot, and try it
again.

The problem seems to related to dd_VC_IA64Runtime, but I have no idea why
it
is related to IA64 while my machine is running x64 mode.

I've also tried to find solution from the web, but no single simple way
to
slove it. It took me too much time to fight this problem and hope
somebody
can give me advice.

I'm using Vista Business 64 bit Traditional Chinese Edition, with Vista
SP1,
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
