I use Windows XP Home. After idling the computer for a
time sufficient to initiate a standby, and with the screen
blank, I recover the screen normally (either a keypress or
moving the mouse) and the mouse cursor is not visible and
the following error message is displayed: "The device
driver for the 'Communcations Port(COM1)' device is
preventing the machine from entering standby. Please
close all applications and try again. If the problem
persists, you may need to update this driver."

I have not found any updated drivers on the Microsoft
sites for the drivers, serenum.sys and serial.sys. What
might cause this problem? Are there other drivers that
could be involved?

Thanks for any help.
