I have a presentation that has several segments. Each
segment has its own sound clip. How do I fade out the
sound at the end of each segment. Is there a command in
Powerpoint that will allow me to do this.

PowerPoint does not offer this feature natively.

You can fade the music in an audio editor - look here for some free audio
editors:

If you can be happy with reducing the volume rather than an actual fade,
this add-in from Chirag Dalal may help:

A few years ago, Sonic Foundry made a PowerPoint add-in called Audio
Anywhere that integrated with PowerPoint and allowed fades (never used it
though!) - you might be able to find a copy at eBay.
