I have a picture slide show for a school program. I want to use mutliple music files (wav or mp3) thru out the presentation. In the past, what have had to do is manually count the seconds of each slide and then try to figure out at what particular slide a certain track would end.--I hate doing this and it take so FU$#ing much time--Any hints, tips, etc

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the level of audio playback control that you are
looking for for inserted sounds.

However, a very cool option in PowerPoint 97 is the Custom Soundtrack
add-in. The PowerPoint Custom Soundtrack Add-in allows you to add
electronically-generated background music to your slide shows and one of
it's options is to have music it generates transition and end gracefully
(not quite the same as fade out). You can install this add-in from the
following folder on the Office 97 compact disc:

<drive>:\ValuPack\MusicTrk

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions as to how
PowerPoint improve it's options for controlling the playback of audio (such
as fade in/out), don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
