Clearify, you what the background to fade from one color to a lesser shade in a graduated fashion or do you want the background to
just fade away to white while you're viewing the page?
OK. Create the image in your favorite graphics program.
Make it 20px high and 1600px wide (the largest resolution in common
use). Because the background tiles it will look like one image.
