Fable Lost Chapters on dual core XP 64

Howdy folks,

So, I'm trying to run Fable: The Lost Chapters on XP 64-bit professional
with a 2.4 GHZ AMD Turion 64 mobile. Now, the game seems convinced that the
processor is not strong enough to run Fable (obviously false), but it only
seems to see 800 MHZ of power. However, because there in fact is a ton more
power, the game seems to overcompensate for the perceived slowness of my
processor or something and ends up running way, way too fast. It also turns
all the graphics settings down because it thinks my computer is too slow,
despite the fact I keep turning them up. And I can't turn them up ingame
because it drops my resolution ridiculously so I can't see the whole screen.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to find possible solutions to
this problem on MS website, but not as easy as one would think. I'm usually
quite proficient with computers, so its weird for me to turn to anyone for
technical help, but this one's confusing me, so whatever can be done, thanks.

Hi SRohlfing,

Seems like the problem stems from the game seeing your
processor at it's lowest possible speed when in power
saving mode, which is normal for a mobile machine.

Try disabling the power saving features in your Control
Panel and BIOS, plug into AC and install the game again.

I'm having the same problem as SRohlfing, but I was plugged into AC when I
installed Fable, and have been plugged in the whole time. I have an AMD
Turion 64 X2 mobile processor, which is 1.7 GHz. But Fable is giving me that
same error. Do you have any idea why this is happening? I'm using Windows
Vista Home Premium.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
