Could someone please tell me why when i press F8 on start
up nothing happensand it continues to load.The reason i
want to do this is because im trying to enter safe start
to see why im having trouble installing an ext usb2 hard
drive. Thank you for reading this, any comments would be
very helpful.

dont know but it is a usb keyboard,changed it to us

If this is the USB k/b, then buy/borrow the PS/2 k/b, get into the BIOS and
enable legacy USB devices during boot (this option name depends on the BIOS
version). If there is no such option, try to upgrade the BIOS or stick with
PS/2 k/b.
