F2 key does not allow cell editing in Excel (Office XP Pro)

In all prior versions of Excel, pressing F2 had the same
impact as double clicking on a cell when direct editing
was enabled, i.e. restores the cursor at the end of the
cell, allowing you to edit the contents. But I have a
microsoft wireless keyboard, where this key is now mapped
to an undo function. The Excel help for shortcut keys
says F2 is still the correct key for editing cell
contents. What key should I now use, or how do I restore
this functionality and to which key do you recommend
restoring it to (to avoid conflict with other Office
programs)

I do not have that keyboard, but do have an office one, which may be
similar. 'F' keys which may be mapped to something else, in your case undo,
normally have an 'F Lock' key somewhere, like Caps Lock or Num Lock, that
returns their normal 'F' functionality

Katrianne,

You have to turn on the default the behavior of the F keys by pressing the
"F Lock" key to the right of the F12/Print key. It gets turned off every
time you boot up.
