If I understand you correctly you now have a new partition
on your hard drive (F:\) that you did not create yourself
and you want to remove it.

How to format and partition a hard drive in XP.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;313348&Product=winxp

After market software (e.g., Partition Magic 8.0) can
add/remove/re-size partitions.

However, the existence of a partition on your hard drive
isn't your real problem. Windows doesn't just create new
partitions all by itself so the real question here would
be "If you did not create F:\ then who did?" This is
another way of asking "Is it really my computer or has
someone else taken it over?"

Are you already behind a firewall? If not, have you
activated the one that comes with XP (run Help and Support
and search 'firewall' (without the quotes). You could
also download Zone Alarm - find via Google. I've been
very happy with Zone Alarm.

Have you downloaded all applicable upgrades from Microsoft?

Do you have a good anti-virus program and do you update
and run it weekly? Is its auto-protect feature always ON?

Spyware and parasites are not noted for create new
partitions but protecting yourself from them is part of
using the Internet. Ad-Aware and Spybot can be found via
Google. Update and run daily.
